Camping Weekend in Mussandam, Oman

Weekend camping trip organised by Norwegian seamans center..... This time destination Mussandam in Oman... Just pictures not much text. Click photos for larger shots...

Things get a little more primitive as we near the border, but good to see that modern transport helps harvest efficiency.

Need to stop to let the engine oil cool. 10 cars altogether on the trip.

After setting up camp, head for the summit, first by jeep along the VERY bumpy road and then walk the rest of the way, crossing back into UAE. (No passport control....)

Next day, the descent down the same road. Yep, still jsut as steep.

Fianlly, obligitory Dhow trip in fjord, dolphin spotting and snorkelling

Then back to Dubai, but return trip planned for May to enjoy the cool of the mountains...... Tends to be 10 deg cooler on the plateau at altitude.....
